inspire

Since I oot-ed it's been a different kind of battle in the office. A war that goes on under the tables, behind your back, hidden from the sight of the people on the ground. If the people on the ground actually knew what it was like, I'd imagine 'the system' to fall apart.

Still that doesn't mean I can't have some fun.. All the more reason to, so I drew a joker face with the words 'why so serious?' and pasted it in some dark corner of the clerk's desk. Though that could invite trouble as much as smiling, laughing and not looking sad does.

I've always had this theory about the army, or the whole saf in general.. (not a conspiracy theory) Something very sensible but I won't say it here. (not because I'm scared they'll lock me up for saying something bad.. I'm just getting a little off topic here)

Anyway, great video here.. kinda inspiring, though I've already accepted my fate that I can't nearly be half as pro as this guy. hah, just watch and be awestruck..

full of bitterness

I've been drinking a lot more of this more than any other beer recently:

Which is really one of the more bitter beers I've drank. Why'd I still drink it? cause 1: It's still beer, and beer is always good.. 2. It's cheap and dad likes to buy this..

It's no wonder people who drink heineken and tell me; waahh so bitter.. later wonder why I tell them it's not bitter but sweet.. Figures. (my first beer was an anchor when I was still a kid and hell was it bitter! hah.)

Still the best, or rather the favorite since the first taste of it is and will always be:
TADA!
Friends who later discovered it couldn't believe what they were missing out on.

And the 2nd in line:

And they're both from Mexico.. !

cheers.

Aliens and Demons

Happy Easter!

I was clearing out some old junk.. and I found these...
Ah.. aliens and demons.. Oh joy, those were my childhood games..
I still remember getting a copy of Starcraft from the pasa malam (night market) when I was hmm.. 9? yea back then the realization that I've just gotten THE best game of the time had not hit me.. I didn't know what I was getting.. I remember mom helping me install the game.

It wasn't until years later, I got an original copy of starcraft (hence the game manual) and started battling it out on the battlenet.

Then came Diablo 2, one gigantic step ahead of it's predecessor. The craze went on and on.. I only stopped playing these games last year..

Now I'm just waiting for the next installation of these 2 great games.. and while I'm waiting.. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King looks really great. Pity I don't have the time.. ... or do I? hehe..

3 weeks

It's been a long while since I had a workout, or any exercise of any sort.. no I don't consider walking or trashing out some wicked (no matter how sick) air guitar moves to be exercise.. Last I've had was a soccer game with some sec sch kids who weren't too friendly. I wondered why till I realized.. which kid would be happy getting their ass handed to them on a plate by older, stronger, more experienced guys.. ah. the cycle of life.

Anyway, I'd say it's been about 3 weeks, or even more .. Who knows how long cause now I think my mind needs a little workout too. Being a clerk, working in a small office don't take much brains at all.. though you'd be at a serious disadvantage if you didn't have any.. and with this sort of life, I feel my tummy growing.. I'm really not in a lovemylife kind of mood right now.. though it could be alot worse.. (it always does)

life always sucks when you start comparing..

The truth about Macintosh..

If you don't know by now.. I own a macintosh, and I absolutely adore it in a way any window's user will never understand.

I borrowed a book from the library last week, 'Macintosh.. The naked truth'.. its a really interesting read about the joys and frustrations of a mac user in a pc dominated world.. some things I didn't know till now:

Shocking but true: the very 1st version of Microsoft office was made for Mac..
The common misconception that Apple copied Microsoft's windows is false. Apple was the first to come out with Icons, control panels, the drag-and-drop thingy, the whole idea of a graphical user interface (even the mouse!) back when Microsoft was still using DOS..
Apple was the first to introduce zip drives (the old old, awkward diskette thingys) into the computer world. Ironically they were also the first to do away with it.. (when they became obsolete)

this story tops it:
in 1998 (I was never good with dates, so this may be a little inaccurate) , a test was conducted to determine which OS was more user friendly.. each team was to complete a series of normal tasks; start up the machine, connect up to the internet and create a file in the network, print some document.. (smth like that).. Representing the Mac was a 10 year old boy, and for the PC; A team of 'computer experts' (you start to see how this is gonna end up..)

The 10 year old boy completed the tasks first, and during the process the PC apparently crashed several times. mind boggling? best part; the Mac was taken straight out of the box untouched, unassembled, while the PC was assembled and tested by experts a couple of hours before the event.. and they spent 2 hours troubleshooting the PC cause there was a problem with the printer driver. These are PC experts we're talking about.. imagine if it were normal dudes.. hah!

if this isn't enough to convince you that getting a Mac is really worth while (though is a little more costly).. just think about it.. Apple is the only company in the whole entire world that makes both the hardware and the software that runs on it (the OS).. And that's why the Mac won't ever fail you. =)

It's been a bad week.. rather irritating one too.. my fuse was just |   | short of blowing.. really..

too bad for the guy who innocently annoyed me and was at the receiving end of a violent reaction, to which I offered no explanation but 'sorry I didn't mean it'.. still, it felt good to kick someone's ass (and get away with it) just cause they're annoying. I'll be doing that more often now..

anyway, so much bad stuffs' been happening.. too much, I just wanna put it all behind.

so here's to the little good stuffs that well just might have saved me from insanity.

1) I was walking back into camp after my medical review yesterday. walking the distance was already damn sian plus the sun was out to kill that afternoon. So I was walking halfway and a car suddenly stopped beside me. It was the canteen uncle, and he gave me a lift! woo.. afterward I suffered a headache due to the heat, imagine if I had walked all the way.

2) 5th floor, sea view cabin. what's there not to like? and an occasional free fireworks viewing.. courtesy of our friendly neighbor, M'sia..

3) I get to play my newly acquired psp in camp. paid $34 for my one and only original game (cause there's no way to mod my current psp).. found the $34 purchase to be worth every single cent. hehe.. :gta vice city stories.

4) another hit from the 80s I got hooked on from gta vice city.
