3,2,1

It's new year's eve ! and I've decided to turn in early.. like now, or in 5 mins time..

In my 21 years of life, I've probably slept the least in 2009. myself and sometimes other forces of evil have been depriving me of a good night's rest too often this year.

So my resolution for the new year is really simple.
1. start the new year (in 1 hour time) asleep.

2. get at least 8 hours of sleep a night.. (this excludes special occasions of course) I know the rightful number is 7, but I gotta leave some slack.

What a year it has been. Fireworks? I say save it for ord.

what better way to end a long day with a even longer good nights' rest. and what better way to end the year, that very same way. Goodnight !

Hats

I went to Diaso yesterday, and found that they have removed almost all christmas related items, including every single christmas hat. It's only 26th, not even the new year, and guess what. They've began selling chinese-new-year related stuff. I thought it was kinda weird, a japanese shop selling chinese new year stuff. but then again, japan and christmas... don't relate that well either.

It made me realize how fast and people move on in this world. Is there no time to stop, or you'll be left behind, forgotten.. I don't know why, I've always been fond of Christmas hats. The simpler the better. I can't stand those flashy lights. Maybe a furry one, or a plain one with a cute little snowman on it would suffice.

I don't really wear hats nowadays, though I used to wear one quite often as I recall.. I still have a couple of sports caps in my wardrobe, but they're almost non-existent to me.. It's kinda sad, maybe I've changed over the years.. no I've definitely changed.

Merry Christmas

I bought the above at Daiso.. 2bucks for the leafy thingy, 2 bucks for 4 of those silvery 'merry christmas' 3 of which I gave out to friends.. I thought it went well together.. Simple yet effective.. Don't I have just have a gift for decorating ..? hah.

It hung at my bunk back in smti. .

It's hanging on my room door now. .

I believe this is the first Christmas eve in bout 4 years that I intend to stay home through the night.. but the China neighbors just started blasting their techno and it's really irritating, and I don't think I'll be able to sleep early as intended. damn bastards.

Okay I know it's Christmas, people are entitled to their partying and you might think this is forgivable.. But they're playing CHINESE AH BENG TECHNO, LIKE THIS LOUD. now if they were playing Christmas Carols or at least something with a more Christmas-sy feeling I wouldn't be complaining..

arhh .. I look forward to tomorrow.. and the day after..

Merry Christmas ! (eve)

not my gf

what is it about one's relationship status that relatives find so fun to poke around.. my cousin who's 20 years older than me saw me outside with a girl.. you can already start to see what kind of disaster's headed my way..

1st fail, I totally failed to notice her..

2nd fail, as she claims; she called out to me but was ignored..

3rd fail, she smsed my mom.. and my sister, and probably everyone.

4th fail, the message which went something like 'Hi, saw your Mark with girl friend at marina sq. Called him but he ignored me. Very cool and in girl wearing a hat. not bad'

5th fail, she's not my 'girlfriend' and I had a lot of explaining to do.

6th fail which is totally not related but, I'm starting to catch a flu and it's book in day..

at least it's gonna be a short week to...
Merry merry Christmas.. =)

end-of-year googles

(written some time ago in camp)
Our of a little good Christmas spirit and some inspiration from a book I finished awhile ago (yes the one previously mentioned in my post, it was a fun read).. I've decided to make an effort to reconnect with some old friends, send a couple of Christmas cards around, share a little joy.

I feel pretty good about it, though when it comes to writing cards, It's really harder then I though. firstly, my handwriting sucks.. though I've made some efforts to try to improve it, mostly in my free time..

I wanted to write different messages for every card I wrote, on a personal level, make it an interesting read for each person. It was a challenge. I know that we live in an age where a postman worries about keeping his job. but I've always liked the idea of writing cards/letters and sending them via snail mail. It's different..

lists

I'm currently reading the-to-do-list . Written by this guy who comes up with a really long long list of things to do, because he wants to 'improve' his life.. kinda like my-name-is-earl except it's a real person, and it's a real story.

I've always liked reading these kind of stories where real people do something drastic-crazy for the better, or even just for the experience.. cause you gotta admit, we singaporeans (most of us) live a pretty mundane life, seldom dare to venture out of the box.

makes me wonder if I'll ever live through anything noteworthy.
